In this post I will be discussing my ideas for my upcoming short game about a child trapped in a haunted school. In this I will be answering questions about my game as well as providing assets that will be used in the game.
What is your story?
In a literal sense, the game is a character is trapped inside a school which has been overrun by demons and must escape without getting killed.
In a figurative sense, it’s a little boy who hates school and is afraid of all of the people there and the game metaphorically communicates his feelings of fear and anxiety.
Where does it take place?
The story takes place in a haunted school with overly dramatic lighting, and creepy monsters all over the place. Towards the back of the school is an exit that the player must reach.
Who is the protagonist?
The protagonist is a little boy around the age of 8 who is afraid of school and all of the people (monsters) insdie of it.
What are the controls like?
The game will utilize the “WASD” keys to move around and the mouse to look.
This is important because the character will need a great range of motion to see what is around him. Also, stepping sideways will be useful in escaping from some of the monsters strategically placed in places that make it hard to reach the ultimate goal (the exit).

I want my game to feature fairly flat objects and have very dramatic green lighting to enhance the creepy atmosphere that I’m trying to create.
