Chair project

A drawing in which I attempt to capture the depth and nuances in the chair using principles of Atmospheric Perspective.Screen Shot 2013-10-09 at 8.23.41 AM

Assignment: Used what we learned throughout our time in Foundations class and create realistic version of a still life chair.

This is a piece I drew of a tall chair covered in black and white striped cloth.  I tried to incorporate a subtle gradient in the piece to give it atmospheric perspective and depth.  The piece incorporates subtle highlights and lowlights to show realism.  It may be hard to see, but there is a very subtle horizon line to help the viewer imagine that the chair is in a room somewhere in the world.
